Gran Torino

Here is a delicious cocktail perfect for autumn with its slightly spicy, mellow flavours.

Its inspiration lies with one of my favourite movies and Italian Cities, Torino, the home of Martini Vermouth the star of many classic cocktails.  I would like to imagine the movie’s star, Clint Eastwood, enjoying this great aperativo. Salute!

Ingredients

  • 30 ml Whisky 12 year old
  • 20 ml  Reserva Speciale Martini Bitter
  • 20 ml Sweet Vermouth
  • 10 ml Salerno Liqueur
  • splash of Orange Juice
  • Top with Ginger foam 
  • To make the Ginger foam 
  • 400 ml Re’al Ginger syrup
  • 100 – 150 ml Lemon juice
  •  200 ml egg white ( two or three eggs )
  • Pour all the ingredients into a clean gas canister charged with two nitrous oxide cartridges.Shake well and keep refrigerated until ready for use.

Method

 

Pour all the ingredients into mixing glass with ice, stir, strain into an old fashioned glass with one large ice ball or cube.

Add the foam on top, garnish with a dehydrated whole slice of orange
