Painkiller

Pusser’s Rum owns the rights to the Painkiller trademark and a few years ago forced the New York bar of the same name to rename itself as ‘PKNY’. Regardless, it’s a drink that’s been around since the 1970s, attributed to the Soggy Dollar Bar on Jost Van Dyke in the British Virgin Islands, and in my opinion is a simple but fun tiki-style drink that’s gained huge prominence over the years.

Ingredients

  • 50ml Pusser’s rum
  • 60ml pineapple juice
  • 30ml orange juice
  • 30ml coconut cream

Method

Place all the ingredients in a blender with a scoop of crushed ice. Blend for 10 seconds. Pour into a large old fashioned glass and top with more crushed ice. Garnish with a slice of orange and grated nutmeg. You can also shake the drink but I prefer to blend as it gives it a better structure.
