Sophia Loren was a glamorous Sixties bombshell—and this rosy-hued cocktail, made with a dash of tomato liqueur and crowned with fried basil, is a tribute to her Italian origins.

 
 
 

 INGREDIENTS

35ml Gin
25ml Strawberry and Tamarillo Purée
15ml Euphoria Perfidhia Liquor
25ml Blood Orange Juice
5ml Honey

FOR THE STRAWBERRY AND TAMARILLO PUREE

4 Tamarillo (350gr)
200gr Strawberries
150gr White sugar
0.5gr Citric Acid
0.5gr Ascorbic Acid

 

METHOD – TO MAKE THE PUREE

Cut the strawberries and put it in a bowl. Peel and cut the Tamarillo in small pieces and add it to the Strawberries and blend. Add the sugar and mix it very well, followed by the citric and ascorbic acid and mix it very well. Pour into a clean bottle and store it in a fridge.

TO MAKE THE DRINK

Pour all ingredients into a shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a coupe glass over a single chunk of ice and garnish with a fried basil leaf.
