Kingston Crusta

Crustas are distinguished by being served in a glass which has been crusted with sugar and a band of orange or lemon zest, the cocktail can be drunk from the rim of the fruit rather than the rim of the glass. A different drinking experience. This one is from the 1930’s.

  • 50ml Jamaican Rum
  • 10ml Maraschino liqueur
  • 15ml fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp ginger syrup
  • 1 tsp smple syrup
  • 3 dash Angostura

First prepare the glass, preferably a small wine glass or champagne flute, by crusting the rim with fine castor sugar and lining it with a band of fine orange peel. Shake all the ingredients in a shaker filled with ice and strain into the prepared glass.
